Wiser Wealth is committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and security of the personal information that is entrusted to us.

The categories of nonpublic information that we collect from you may include information about your personal finances, information about your health to the extent that it is needed for the financial planning process, information about transactions between you and third parties, and information from consumer reporting agencies, e.g., credit reports. We use this information to help you meet your personal financial goals.

With your permission, we disclose limited information to attorneys, accountants and mortgage lenders with whom you have established a relationship. You may opt out from our sharing information with these nonaffiliated third parties by notifying us at any time by telephone, mail, fax, email or in person. With your permission, we share a limited amount of information about you with your brokerage firm in order to execute securities transactions on your behalf.

We maintain a secure office to ensure that your information is not placed at unreasonable risk. We employ a firewall barrier, use secure data encryption techniques and authentication procedures in our computer environment. All Wiser Wealth employees are required to follow specific guidelines set forth in our Information Security Policy.

We do not provide your personal information to mailing list vendors or solicitors. We require strict confidentiality in our agreements with unaffiliated third parties that require access to your personal information, including financial service companies, consultants and auditors. Federal and state securities regulators may review our Company records and your personal records as permitted by law.

Personally identifiable information about you will be maintained while you are a client, and for the required period thereafter that records are required to be maintained by federal and state securities laws. After that time, information may be destroyed.

We will notify clients if our Privacy Policy is expected to change. We are required by law to deliver this Privacy Notice to clients of the firm no less than annually and as changes occur. This version is available to prospective clients and visitors to our site.

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Wiser Wealth maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards and regulations, as well as the European Union’s (“EU”) General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) to protect its clients’ nonpublic personal information (“information”) and, to the extent where applicable, information that may directly or indirectly identify you (“personal data”). What Information We Collect

Wiser Wealth gathers certain information from you or your authorized representative. We collect this information to perform investment advisory and financial planning services. This information may include, but is not limited to, the following:

• Contact information (names, phone numbers, addresses and email addresses)
• Information to verify your identity (Social Security number, passport number, tax ID number and account identification numbers)
• Biographical information (age, gender, date of birth, marital status and the same about members of your immediate family)
• Economic information (employment status, compensation, assets and liabilities and information about your bank accounts and investment holdings)
• Information that tracks your interactions with our website including data from our online scheduler, paid advertising, forms and client portal including cookies, IP address, device and browser details.

Why We Collect It

Wiser Wealth gathers personal information to provide clients with investment advisory and financial planning services and to provide you with invoices, reports and notifications relating to your account(s) with us, information about our firm, future meetings with us and our services to you.

How We Use It

Wiser Wealth will only use your personal Information for the purpose of providing investment advisory and financial planning services to you, including, but not limited to:

1) to monitor, audit, evaluate and otherwise administer our services;
2) to communicate with you;
3) in an effort to protect against fraud and identity theft;

4) to comply with applicable legal requirements, industry standards and regulations, contractual obligations, and our policies, terms and conditions; and
5) for any other purposes as required or authorized by law, including other purposes for which you have provided your consent and our legitimate interests.

 

Where It Is Stored

Wiser Wealth processes your personal information at our office in the United States located in Marietta, Georgia. We store your personal information on the servers of our cloud provider in the United States across multiple locations. We use certain third party software to maintain the personal information of our clients on its servers. Software includes portfolio management, financial planning, customer relationship management (CRM), email archiving, and software related to our custodians’ platforms including TD Ameritrade, Inc., Nationwide and Betterment. This is not an exhaustive list as our technology is constantly changing and we may need to enlist other technology to meet the needs of our clients. Our firm has policies in place outlining requirements for Vendor Due Diligence (no less than annually) which reflects the SEC requirements for safeguarding client personal information.

We do not share your personal information with third parties unless necessary in furtherance of our services to you or as required by law. We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.

How Long We Maintain It

Wiser Wealth is subject to record retention requirements set forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”). We retain your personal information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations in the United States, primarily SEC Rule 275.204-2 under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 (“Books and Records Rule”). This rule states that we are obligated to keep your personal data for a period of at least five years from the end of the fiscal year during which we last updated the record. After the expiration of the period for which the SEC obligates us to retain your data, your personal data will be evaluated for deletion according to our firm’s data destruction policy.

Former Clients

Even if we cease to provide you with financial products or services, our Privacy Policy will continue to apply to you and your data, and we will continue to treat your nonpublic information with strict confidentiality. After the expiration of the period for which the SEC obligates us to retain your information, your personal information will be evaluated for deletion according to our firm’s client record destruction policy.

What You Can Do

Under the GDPR, you have certain rights about your personal data that we gather and use, including:

• The right to obtain personal data we hold about you.

• The right to have inaccurate or incomplete data about you corrected or completed.

• The right to request us to delete your personal data (subject to the SEC Books and Records Rule requirements above).

• The right to restrict processing of your personal data in specific cases.

• The right to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation.

• The right to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format and send it to another party.

• The right to lodge a complaint with a Supervisory Authority within your Member State here.

In the case of marketing, where Wiser collects and stores personal data based on consent, you have a right to withdraw consent at any time. To withdraw consent from receiving marketing communications, follow the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any e-mail and you will be removed within 72 hours. Please note that opting out of providing certain information may impact our firm’s ability to provide services and updates in connection with your account. Opting out of interaction with one or more of our websites will require us to provide documents to you by email, mail or through other means as agreed upon with you.
