The city of Roswell was founded in 1839 by Roswell King, who established the Roswell Manufacturing Company. It officially became a city in 1854.
Roswell is located on Georgia Highway 400 and is currently the home of many corporate headquarters, tech businesses, and other industries. With such a strong economy, the small-town appeal of Roswell has made it a popular place for families.
The city’s population is around 90,000, and the median income is about $103,689, well above the national median income for families estimated at $79,900.
Roswell enjoys a solid
Parks and Recreations Department, which has received much praise from the
Georgia Parks & Recreation Association. The department was recognized as the best department in the state eight times.
Thanks to this department, Roswell enjoys many activities and programs designed for its citizens, many of which take place in the city’s trail system. This area is abundant in natural parks, with an estimated 890.38 acres of parkland.
The city also encourages economic growth in the area through the City of Roswell Economic Development Incentive Policy. The policy aims to assist new businesses in starting up in Roswell or even help new businesses relocate to the area. The city also offers some property tax exemptions for certain goods. For example, finished goods produced in Georgia within the last year enjoy a 100% tax-exempt.
